While this blog post will probably be controversial to many of my friend’s especially those of the armed forces, I am tired of a decade of war, a war we should have never been involved in, in the first place.
Let’s look at some figure’s a recent study show’s that the recent wars of the U.S. have costed the U.S. some $2.3 trillion, let us not forget the hundred’s of billion’s of dollar’s that has been lost, and or invested in project’s that have done little to help rebuild Iraq, and Afghanistan.
With tension’s rising between the NATO alliance and the nation’s of Iran, North Korea, and the current issue’s affecting the relationship between the United States, and the Russian Federation threaten to drag this country into another international conflict, one we can neither afford, and one the American people don’t want.
After a decade of war, our civil liberties have been threatened as we have government’s becoming increasingly more out of touch with the people they’re supposed to represent, law’s being passed that infringe on our constitutional right’s granted to us in the Constitution of the United States.
I for one would like to point out the fact that Iraq, is far less stable now that we went on a mission looking for WMD’s (Weapons of Mass Destruction) that were never found, there is more violence in Iraq since U.S. Troops left a year ago. Also what is to happen in Afghanistan when the Taliban retake power as is widely predicted. I don’t see the relationship staying to tight with Pre-War Afghanistan as the Taliban aren’t exactly the best friend’s of the United States or it’s people.
I feel the United Nation’s should step up to the plate and take up the charge of the international police force. While the Government of the United State’s see’s this as it’s priority at the moment, considering our huge defense budget. The defense budget didn’t create the huge debt, but it must be part of the solution in fixing the U.S. debt in a long-term plan that should be created soon, so that these harmful sequester cut’s can be repealed.
The United State’s should focus more on domestic issue’s that it has long pushed aside that should be taken more serious as the 2014 mid-term election approaches we must campaign for a government that works once again for the people of this country. It must find diplomatic solution’s to many of the international issue’s my country is involved in as of today.
